Offered for sale is a vintage Keystone Locomotive Works HO-108 G.E. 44-Ton Diesel Locomotive, assembled and finished as Canadian National #6.

The original box is clearly marked HO-108 – G.E. 44 Ton Diesel Locomotive Kit.

This example has been assembled and painted in the classic Canadian National green and yellow scheme with road number 6.

The locomotive features a compact center-cab body, fine handrails, cab glazing, metal running gear and visible geared drive components beneath the chassis.

Canadian National #6 was a real General Electric 44-ton switcher. The prototype was built in September 1942, originally operated by the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railroad, and was later acquired by Canadian National in 1957.

This makes the model especially attractive for collectors of Canadian National, industrial switchers, vintage HO locomotives and Keystone Locomotive Works models.

Canadian National #6 was a distinctive member of CN\'s small fleet of General Electric 44-ton switchers.

The locomotive was built in September 1942 as Minneapolis & St. Louis D-842, later renumbered #11 before being acquired by Canadian National in February 1957.

CN classified the locomotive ER-4c. It was rated at approximately 380 horsepower and weighed about 92,180 pounds.

The locomotive remained with Canadian National until 1970 before being sold into industrial service.
