Gorgeous 41.5 mm GEM collector specimen from the Gulf of Aqaba, Red Sea, displaying a broad, inflated profile identified on its original collection label as Gondola Form. The shell has excellent gloss, attractive olive tan to brown spotting over a creamy ground, a beautifully clean white base and sharply defined teeth.
Particularly attractive are the subtle rose to pinkish brown tones along portions of the margins and extremities, which add warmth and character to the specimen and are especially visible in the side views.
The specimen is accompanied by its original collection label, identifying it as Erosaria turdus Gondola Form, Lamarck 1810, 41.5 mm, Aqaba Gulf, GEM.
About the identification: Current taxonomy places this species within Naria turdus.
