This fine pair of .950 silver French fruit knives have a silver fineness mark that dates between 1798 and 1809.they also carry the city mark for Paris. The maker\'s mark is PL with a star above which I have not been able to identify. They have fine ebony handles with inlaid silver shield shaped escutcheons (no monograms). Their overall length is 2.75\" and they weigh a cumulative 47.9 grams. They would make excellent letter openers.
