Pre-owned vintage condition with age-related wear,discoloration and patina to the gold-tone metal. The faceted red stones displayvariations in shade and size. The pin and clasp are present. Detailed Description
Beautiful vintage Czechoslovakian brooch featuring anelaborate layered arrangement of richly colored faceted red stones.
The brooch is designed with a large round central stonesurrounded by oval, round and teardrop-shaped stones in graduated sizes.Numerous smaller stones form the outer border, creating a dramaticmultidimensional cluster or starburst appearance.
The stones range from deep wine red to brighter reddepending on the lighting. The open-backed settings allow light to pass throughthe larger stones and enhance their color. This style is commonly associatedwith traditional Bohemian garnet jewelry; however, the stones have not beentested and are therefore being sold as garnet or garnet-colored stones.
The back carries what appears to be a CZECHOSLOVAKIAcountry-of-origin mark on the pin stem. The setting appears to be gold-tone orgold-washed base metal. No precious-metal hallmark was identified.
