Vintage Solstiss French Couture Lace – Off-White & Silver – 2-Piece Lot
An exceptional vintage French lace textile by Solstiss, offered here as a substantial two-piece lot totaling approximately 4 yards 25 inches of luxurious 42-inch-wide lace.
Made in France and retaining its original Solstiss identification label, this is an impressive couture-quality textile distinguished by an elaborate ornamental pattern, delicate sheer net ground, dramatic scalloped border, and beautiful off-white coloration with shimmering silver-tone detailing.
Solstiss is internationally recognized for French lace production, and its lace has long been associated with bridal, couture, eveningwear and luxury fashion applications. Contemporary Solstiss lace continues to be manufactured in France and is marketed for designer and couture use.
Design
The pattern is unusually rich and architectural.
The lower border features large repeating scroll, paisley and acanthus-like motifs arranged above an ornate scalloped edge. These sweeping forms transition upward into delicate floral sprays, looping ribbon-like elements and smaller botanical motifs worked over a fine transparent net.
