Waltham 16 Size, 21 Jewel, Grade 645 Open Face Lever Set Movement
Up for sale is a Waltham 16S 21J Grade 645 open face, lever set movement. It has a gold star wheel regulator and a nickel finish. The enamel double-sunk dial has a chip at the lever.
The Case
I paired this movement with a 16S railroad pocket watch salesman\'s case to show off the beautiful movement. The case has lever slots at both the 11 and 1 o\'clock positions, so it also works for the high-jewel Waltham movements that set at 11. Both bezels screw on and off easily, and both glass crystals are clear. Always take your time lining up the threads :>)
Condition / History (Please Read)
This watch was carried daily for a brief time several years ago before i took it to a a local watchmaker to be \"serviced.\" When it came back, the crown no longer wound clockwise with the lever engaged. It will turn counterclockwise. The hands can still be set with the lever pulled out and everything else appears to be in good condition. That said, the watch does not currently run and is being sold as-is, for repair.
I haven\'t been able to find anyone else local to repair it and im sad to see it go, but it\'s time for this watch to find a new home. I definitely recommend having it serviced and repaired by a reputable watchmaker.
