ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY BRASS DRUM MICROSCOPE WITH ORIGINAL WOODEN CASEBeautiful antique brass compound drum microscope dating to approximately the mid-19th century, circa 1850–1870.The microscope measures approximately 8 inches tall and features classic brass construction, sliding optical tube, specimen stage and adjustable illumination mirror within the drum-style base. The microscope is unsigned, with no maker’s marks that I have been able to locate. Its design and construction are consistent with French/Continental European drum microscopes of the mid-1800s.The microscope comes with its fitted wooden carrying/storage case, along with the antique glass slides and accessories pictured. The brass retains a wonderful aged patina with oxidation, discoloration and wear appropriate for an instrument approximately 150+ years old. I have intentionally left it unpolished and unrestored to preserve its antique character.DETAILS• Antique brass compound drum microscope
