Original limited-edition color lithograph by renowned Swiss animal artist Fritz Rudolf Hug (1921–1989) of a Collie (Rough Collie). This striking 1970 print showcases Hug\'s celebrated ability to capture the personality, movement, and character of animals through expressive linework and vibrant color.
The composition presents a majestic Rough Collie in a direct frontal pose, rendered with energetic layers of blue, rust, green, black, and earth-toned strokes that create remarkable depth and texture throughout the dog\'s flowing coat. The bold, modernist treatment is characteristic of Hug\'s most desirable animal portraits and demonstrates why his work remains popular with both dog enthusiasts and collectors of twentieth-century animal art.
This lithograph is hand-numbered 130/240 in pencil at the lower left and hand-signed and dated in pencil at the lower right. It was produced as part of a limited edition of only 240 impressions.
