Original 1967 color lithograph by Swiss artist Fritz Rudolf Hug (1921-1989) depicting a red squirrel perched alertly among loosely rendered vegetation. Hug combines energetic black linework with layered rust, brown, blue, green, ochre, and red, giving the squirrel a lively, almost tactile quality.
The surrounding vegetation and scattered passages of color are handled much more freely, creating an expressive contrast with the more detailed animal. The numerous small colored dots, splashes, faint lines, and irregular marks throughout the composition are part of Hug’s lithographic image and printing technique and should not be mistaken for foxing or staining.
This is an original limited-edition color lithograph, pencil-signed and dated “Fritz Hug 67” at the lower right and numbered 244/250 at the lower left.

ConditionGood vintage condition overall. The lithograph retains strong color and crisp, expressive linework. The sheet shows light age-related toning and minor edge and corner wear consistent with age and handling, with a few very subtle handling impressions visible upon close inspection. Please review all photographs closely, as they are an important part of the condition description.
